Privacy and Technology

Privacy and Technology

In the introduction to the chapter on privacy, Faigley and Selzer states that one legacy of the September 11,2011 attack is that while electronic technologies have given people a new degree of personal freedom, there is no doubt that a price has been paid for that freedom: That price is the surveillance side of the Internet and other technologies and that with this increased attention to security that has ensued. Privacy issues have been an increasing concern in American life (466-67).

For this essay you will do the following:

- In a casual argument, consider how technological age in which we live exacerbates issues of privacy(499).

-Use narrative to introduce your topic and as part of your discussion(first paragraph
should be all about narrative,so please choose a good story to tell the readers).

- When thinking about your topic, keep in mind that the issues we feel most passionate about (and often get into debates about or even arguments over) are the ones that touch our lives personally.

Choose a topic that you really care about!

Be sure to address the following as part of your discussion:

-What are the concerns over your chosen issue?

- How can these concerns be addressed? Suggest a feasible solution to the problem!

-When writing this paper be sure to not general the problem. You are the expert, so you need to present an expert viewpoint, which both acknowledges and briefly discusses other viewpoints of an issue while taking your own stance with backup from other professional experts.
