Both Mercedes Benz and the Cadillac run a centuries-old tradition of manufacturing reliable and luxury cars, but with distinct origin of places and technology. While Mercedes Benz represents German engineering technology, the Cadillac on the other hand represents the American design.
Cadillac is a luxury brand of automobiles from General Motors popular in the United States of America with GM founded in August 22, 1902 as the Cadillac Automobile Company. Its name was derived from the 17th century French explorer Antoine Laumet de La Mothe, sieru de Cadillac, the founder of Detroit, Michigan.
Mercedes Benz, on the other hand, is a German brand of automobiles, buses, coaches and trucks from the DaimlerChrysler company, formerly known as Daimler-Benz. It is the world’s oldest automobile manufacturer with its three-pointed star design first appearing in 1909 but the company’s origin dated way back to 1880s when Gottlieb Daimler and Karl Benz invented the internal combustion engine-powered automobile in southwestern Germany. The name Mercedes came from Austrian dealer Emil Jellinek who placed exclusive orders and distribution for Austria-Hungary, France, Belgium and USA using his daughter’s name Mercedes as the brand name for the automobiles.
Mercedes Benz focuses on high quality and state-of-the-art engineering and had been offering expensive cars made of lower volumes cultivating an image of superior engineering, quality and service.
