1 1. What is informed consent? 2 2. Explain how correct hand washing is the best method of infection control and give 2 further examples of infection control. Describe at least 3 ways that infection can be spread while performing venepuncture.

  3. Three of the main complications associated with phlebotomy are hitting an artery, haematoma, and fainting. Describe each complications fully. Explain how you would treat your patient in each situation. 
  
  4. The two systems used in venepuncture are the Evacuated (BD/Greiner) system and the Aspiration (S-Monovette) system. Explain how both systems are assembled and how the sample is taken.
