The Paradox of Choice and its Implications to Human Conditions
The “Paradox of Choice” has been used to explain why people have difficulty making complex decisions. Critically evaluate the implications of this for the way people make choice about their health and risks associated with these choices such as poor eating habits, smoking and alcohol consumption.
A telecom company is intending to place a new mobile phone base station in a residential area, approximately 15 metres from a row of houses. Residents are strongly opposed, believing that mobile-phone towers emit Radio-Frequency (RF) energy which is dangerous for health. You have been asked to access the risk posed by the base station. Evaluate the available information about the potential health risks posed by RF energy from mobile base stations and decide whether it should be moved or not.
