You have recently been appointed the supervisor of a section of the Human Resources Department of The Body Shop International.
You have 8 staff reporting to you.
Your predecessor was an autocratic type of manager and made all decisions without reference to any member of his team. As a result there is evidence of low morale and very little teamwork.
Specific Instructions:
The Task:
Part 1
- Identify existing problems through the company's appraisal system
- Introduce job specifications and work schedules
Part2
- Introduce training plans, related to skills assessment
- Re-assign duties where appropriate
Part3
- Introduce performance monitoring
- Set-up a suggestions system
- Set-up regular awareness meetings
