Fashion
Business Management: Supply
Chain Management
It is
vital that within fashion supply chains we develop product in a sustainable manner from an ecological standpoint.
Much
has been documented on the subject of fashion contributing to killing the planet from the landfill of fast fashion to
the waste and by products of farming cotton and producing synthetic fibres.
Some
forward thinking brands and retailers are addressing the issues within
each segment of their supply chain, from fabric decisions and developments at
the design and concept stage through to their choices of local sourcing and
reduced carbon footprint.
Select a brand or
retailer that uses sustainability in a positive or negative manner
Key Points:
- Examine the impact on all parts of their supply chain
- Discuss and critically analyse the company selected in the context of sustainable fashion supply chains
- Look at the competition of your company – what are they doing in comparison? (competitors analysis)
- Apply some related methodology to analyze, such as PEST, 5-FORCES, SWOT
- Use Harvard style Referencing
- Ensure that you investigate this topic via your research from all aspects of concept to custome
- Use the fashion critical path as a guideline (supplied)
